Special Railways

This is a complex discipline which acquaints students with the design, construction and operation of: cargo and passenger cable railways and rope lines; monorail transport and rack railways; magnetic-cushion railways; urban rail transport - trams and underground. This knowledge is obtained through learning of: design of their horizontal and vertical levelling; combination of the special railways with other means of transport into a unified transport system; the main technologies for their construction. After graduation students are able to design rope lines, funicular railways, tramways, underground, and other special railways.
