Students are acquainted on-situ major type of soils from the agricultural fund of the country. Factors and processes of soil formation are discussed as well as associated indicators. Practical skills are developed with respect to: description of a soil profile texture and morphological features of genetic horizons; establishing the chemical composition and some more important hydrological and physical soil parameters. Comments are made on the productive potential of soils, ameliorative problems and methods for soil improvement. Everyone of the students collect soil samples that are analyzed at the laboratory exercises.
