The course provides students with specialised knowledge about planning of the systems of technical infrastructure in settlements. The problems of the transportation and communication systems and their interrelation with settlement structures are discussed in detail. The classification of the street network, its elements and main parameters, the pedestrian flow, the parking and putting into garages, the public and private transport are studied. Basic normative and practical knowledge for their design is provided. Big transport and communication facilities – harbours, railway stations, airports, bus stations and metro-systems are discussed.
