Lead Lecturer Prof. Dr. Eng. Todor Barakov

Reconstructions of the buildings with masonry structures are widely used in the building practice, mainly for buildings with low storeys (less then 3 storeys). The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the structural requirements and methods for calculation of the bearing capacity of the strengthened masonry and reinforced masonry structures. The students will get knowledge for the materials for masonry and reinforced structures, their characteristics, way of execution and methods for calculation of the bearing capacity for vertical and lateral actions. In addition, they will get basic image for requirements of EC6.
