The discipline develops basic theoretical and practical knowledge, necessary for the application of computer technologies. The lecture course discusses the basic concepts in hardware and software. Practicals are based on learning the principles of word-processing, using worksheets and databases. During the second half of the semester students study the foundations of two-dimensional computer graphics through a CAD system for general use.
