Stability of earth base and slopes. Earth pressure. Lab exercises for determination of soil properties. Part two: Foundation Engineering. Strengthening of excavations. Concrete, reinforced concrete, and sheet pile walls. Shallow foundations - isolated, rafts and plates. Pile and sunk wells. Foundation under complex geotechnical conditions. Coursework on supporting and foundation structures.
