This subject deals with the properties of rock massifs represented as discrete mechanical medium, in which the planes of discretization are represented by rock fissures. Engineering methods for stability assessment of rock massifs and rock slopes as well as for their strengthening and stabilization are studied. Accent is put as well on the design load of the rock base and its bearing capacity in relation to carrying out foundations in rocks.
