Building Construction

Building Construction

The aim of this taught course is to acquaint students with the main components of a building, their specificity as parts of an entity, their structural solutions, materials and details needed for construction. Both traditional and modern solutions in building construction are considered. Accent is put mainly on residential and public buildings, since the components and structural solutions of industrial, agrarian and other similar buildings are usually a simplified variety of the civil buildings. The curriculum comprises ten topics, each one being individually considered in terms of structural components of a building.
