This subject includes issues related to specific investigations of the earth bed for: design of road and railroad earthfills; determination of physical and mechanical characteristics of the earth bed and filling material; design of earthfill structures (stress and strain state of earthfill structures and interaction with the earth bed, stability of embankments for loose and non-loose soils; technical schemes for execution of earthfill structures); geotechnical control in the execution of earthfill structures; deformations, failures, damages and strengthening of earthfill structures.
