he discipline extends at different levels the professional knowledge of architectural art in a historic environment. With the help of practical examples the interrelationship between the historic layers is analysed and the architectural heritage in the new architecture is interpreted. The international system for preservation of architectural heritage and the world experience in the field of town-planning protection and renovation of historic settlements are presented. The methodological approach to drawing plans for preservation on urban and territorial level is discussed. Remarkable examples of the world and the Bulgarian urban and architectural practices are presented.
