The discipline profiles the development of the European Architecture tradition in different regional contexts, considering the interactions between Western and Eastern as well as Southern and Northern zones of the continent.

The accent is made to the development of specificity of the modernist doctrine in its two layers – the universalist and the localist, giving birth to different types of regional mixtures and hybrids of both. The model of centre and periphery is analyzed in its historic modernist context.
