Earthquake-Resistant Design of Structures II

Earthquake-Resistant Design of Structures II

The aim of the course is to give students knowledge for the behavior of the reinforced concrete (RC) structures under earthquake and the features of the compliance design. Studied: elements of engineering seismology; basic principles of conceptual design; specifities of calculation and detailing of reinforced concrete frames, shear walls, cores, floor structures and foundations, subjected to seismic excitations; repair and strengthening of RC structures. After finishing the course students acquire additional skills for earthquake – resistant design of RC structures.
