This subject is taught in the 9th semester to seniors in Urban Planning dept. for 2 hours per week. It is aimed at complementing the students' knowledge on landscape, its components, structure and classifications. The main principles of planning of natural and anthropogenic landscapes, of elimination of infringements of environmental regulations, and protection of the aesthetic harmony and ecological balance are considered. The most important provisions of the current national environmental legislation and the European conventions signed by the Bulgarian government are presented. The methods used in the development of landscape plans as well as plans for management of landscape and protected territories are outlined.
