Selcuk University, which began education in 1975 with 2 faculties, 7 departments, 32 students and two permanent staff members, is ranked among the largest universities in Turkey today with 19 faculties, 21 vocational schools, 7 schools, 27 application and research centers, 72.000 students, 2700 academic, 1241 administrative personnel and a total population of 75 thousand.

Since its foundation in 1975, a total of 800.000 square meters covered space has been constructed in our university and a large part of its physical infrastructure has been completed during its history of 37 years. We are a university that is larger than 30 provincial centers according to the figures released by the Statistics Institute of Turkey by virtue of our academic and administrative staff and students that reach about 75 thousand. Moreover, Selcuk University, which ranked 17th in Higher Education Council’s international publications ranking in 2003, rose to the 9th place in 2009 and according to the figures of 2010, it ranked 8th. The ranking belonging to the year 2011 has not been released by HEC yet.
