| Description | Akdeniz University was founded in 1982, and included higher education institutions in Antalya, Burdur and Isparta, The units outside Antalya were transferred to Süleyman Demirel University in 1992, and the Burdur Faculty of Veterinary Science went to Mehmet Akif Ersoy University in 2006. Akdeniz University is a member of the EUA, (the European Universities Association) and the IAU, (the International Association of Universities) and regards internationalization as being of the greatest importance. The university has signed 112 agreements within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme and 23 agreements with 23 universities in 12 different countries under the terms of the Mevlana Exchange Programme. In addition to comprehensive collaboration within Europe, Akdeniz University has also signed scientific and cultural bilateral cooperation agreements with respected universities in every part of the world. |
