Architecture and Context

Architecture and Context

Architecture and Context aims at forming a conscious personal way of thinking in the approach to the architectural environment in the architectural design process.

The main task of the discipline is to argue the critical importance of the context (and hence of the inherited in the broad sense of the term) in architectural creativity at different levels. The following sub-tasks are outlined: presentation of the search and discovery of context and significance; outlining approaches to interpret and convey context in different ways and for different audiences using the architectural toolkit; expanding understandings of perceiving the environment.
