The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic potentialities for three-dimensional modelling and creating photo-realistic images with the help of 3D Studio VIZ. The possibilities for development and implementation of materials and for inserting 3D models, created with the help of other computer programmes, as well as the elementary possibilities for creating animations are discussed. At the end of the semester students independently develop a coursework.
The discipline subjects are the basic principles of room acoustic, soundproofing and acoustic treatment of rooms, working spaces, etc.
The project is being developed in the technical phase with fragments, details and specific architectural and design solutions in parts of the designed in the Concept design during I-semester.
The subjects of "Architectural Lighting" are: the light, the main types of artificial light sources and lighting systems, the interior and exterior lighting of the building.
Structure and architectural form. Structural and construction systems. Buildings with bearing walls – masonry walls, monolithic and precast reinforced concrete walls. Skeleton-structure buildings – monolithic reinforced concrete skeleton, precast reinforced concrete skeleton, steel skeleton. Roof structures of wide-span buildings – beam structures, frames, arches, thin-wall shell and folded structures, lattice structures, suspended and cable structures, pneumatic structures.
Students acquire knowledge and skills for the further development of a conceptual design into a partial executive design (technical design) with elucidation of the structure, the main components of a building and their details using up-to-date systems, materials and technologies. A method for investigation and synthesis of an architectural and structural solution of a building and of different building systems and engineering parts of the design is adopted.
Students acquire skills and knowledge on the design of a building in a conceptual phase, taking into account the place and role of architectural structures and technology in the architectural composition and form.
This is a project which requires from students to learn methods and skills for a conceptual design on the basis of thematic investigations, feasibility studies, assessment and selection of structure and synthesis in the architectural form.

The course presents the development and the problems of modern structures and details for performance of walls, floors, roofs, façade and roof glazing, partition walls, suspended ceilings, facings and linings, etc. in accordance with the Bulgarian and world standard. Design is carried out in the form of tutorials on Pre-Diploma Project I, developed in the departments of “Public Buildings”, “Residential Buildings” and “Industrial and Agricultural Buildings”.
