Automation of Water Supply and Sewerage Systems
The course considers the technological parameters control as well as various control devices and systems used in the WSS systems and drinking / waste water treatment plants. After finishing the course students are able to choose suitable measurement devices and equipment for automated process control in WSS systems and treatment plants.
Chemistry in Civil Engineering
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to apply in specialised technological courses the knowledge obtained in: chemistry of inorganic binders; heterogeneous colloid dispersed and coarse dispersed systems; properties and main methods for treating water-dispersed systems; effect of natural waters on materials, structures and facilities; corrosion and main principles of protection of the metals used in construction against corrosion.

Exploitation of Water Supply and Sewerage Treatment Plants
The course emphasizes on issues related to putting into operation of treatment plants for natural water and municipal wastewater and the specific features of their operation. After finishing the course students are capable to analyse and control the natural and wastewater treatment plants operation.
Fundamentals of Hydraulics, Water Supply and Sewerage
After finishing the course students become familiar with the basic laws on equilibrium and flow of fluids and their practical application, to construct water supply and sewerage (drainage) systems and structures in urban areas, residential and public buildings, construction sites and individual projects.
Gas Supply
The course offers knowledge of: main properties of gas fuel; production and processing of natural gas; gas supply mains; gas demand and estimation of design loads; distribution gas supply network and equipment; methods and devices for measuring of gas consumption; and pressure regulation and overpressure protection. After completing the course the students will be able to design gas distribution networks with pressure from 0, 01 MPa to 1, 6 MPa.
Gas Supply - Project Assignment
Preliminary design project for gas supply of a settlement is developed. The project includes the design of two pressure natural gas supply system including all the elements: gas regulating stations, gas distribution stations, valves etc. Hydraulic sizing of the low and high pressure network is performed. After the successful presentation of the project, students are able to perform technological design of distribution networks of settlements.

Main objectives of this lecture course are the biological processes and organism types, which are appropriate for purification of wastewater in natural and artificial conditions and reestablishment of environment balance, as well as microbiological aspects of water-aided spreading of contagious diseases and water quality control. The essence of this subject is the determination of the quantity and composition of the municipal solid waste as well as their collection, transportation and treatment. After finishing the course students are able to design, construct and maintain sanitary landfills for municipal solid waste.
