The complete study programme takes 10 semesters.
During the first 8 semesters all students follow a unified academic curriculum, while for the 9th semester they have to choose from two options - Structures and Management and Technology of Construction. The 10th semester, students work on a diploma project consulted by a supervisor from the relevant department. 

Students pursuing the degree programme in Structural Engineering study about 60 subjects amounting to more than 4000 academic hours in total.

The subjects of the curriculum are of the following types: compulsory, elective and optional.
The teaching process comprises lectures, seminars and course projects, practical exercises in laboratories and seminar rooms, practical and field training. The exercises are carried out in the well-equipped testing labs and computer rooms of the Faculty and University computer centre.

Academic calendar
The academic year at UACEG is organised in two semesters with duration of 15 weeks each.

The autumn semester usually starts in the beginning of October and ends in the beginning of January. The course project presentation/assessment, the regular and the supplementary winter examination sessions are conducted in January and February.

The spring semester typically starts in the end of February and ends in the beginning of June. It is followed by the course project assessment, summer examination session and practical training, all conducted in June and July.

The final supplementary examination session takes place in September. The exact dates in the
academic calendar are fixed yearly by the Academic Council.
