Students of Water Supply and Sewerage have 46–48 courses with a total of 4300 academic hours and participate also in practical and field training for a total of over 400 hours.
The Water Supply and Sewerage programme has two specialities:
- Water Supply and Sewerage Systems and Facilities;
- and Water and Wastewater Treatment.
Splitting of students by specialities is made before the 7th semester.
Training is provided in classes (lectures and seminars), laboratory exercises, practical and field training and pre-diploma field training in design companies and organisations.
Instruction is in Bulgarian.
The graduates obtain state diplomas for completed higher education in the respective programme, with the professional qualification Master-Engineer in Water Supply and Sewerage (Water and Wastewater Treatment or Water Supply and Sewerage Systems and Facilities profiles).
Academic calendar
The exact academic calendar is determined each year by the Academic Council of the University.
The academic year consists of two semesters, each one of 15 weeks: autumn semester (from October to January) and spring semester (from February to June).
One regular and one supplementary examination session as well as project presentations follow the autumn semester.
The summer semester has one regular examination session, project defences, followed by field practices outside the University (in June and July).
The annual supplementary examination session is in September.
