The course presents the theoretical bases of water chemistry. Students receive some knowledge about: the chemical composition of natural water having different origin; important processes intfluencing its formation; characteristics of main impurities; methods for chemical analyses; an evaluation of water quality. Special accent is put on some widely used processes for water treatment. Some problems of corrosion of metal equipment are discussed.
