This course is meant to provide in-depth knowledge and skills on the use of the contemporary digital standards related to information systems-based cartographic activities. The emphasis is put on the international standards for exchange of geographical information, networks, platforms and devices, created and being developed by LIF (Location Interoperability Forum), ISO (International Organization for Standardization), IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force), MAGIC (group of companies - NavTech, Microsoft, MobileGIS, etc.), WAP Forum (Wireless Application Protocol Forum), and W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), as well as the international infrastructure for spatial data.
