The discipline “Design of steel structures according to Eurocode 3” gives the possibility to students to master the basic situations of European codes for analysis and design of steel structures. Lectures encompass the most important sections of Eurocode 3 with nine subjects in total. The project of one – storey single span building includes design of basic structural elements – column and beam of a frame, purlin, bracing, connections between elements, base of column. Drawing part includes overall structure decision and typical details. Importance of the discipline is undisputed in light of the pending implementation of the European codes for national codes.
