Special Steel Structures

The main core of the course lectures includes the following topics: Shell structures, Single-storey large-span buildings and Multistorеy&high-rise buildings. In addition, a few other advanced topics related to the main topics are taught, such as Prestressed steel structures, Composite structures and Cable&tension structures. Upon the course completion the students will be capable of solving independently the tasks related to planning and conceptual design of the above-mentioned specific types of steel structures, the global modelling and analysis, and structural detailing of the major structural parts and joints. Тhey acquire additional knowledge and practical skills for designing steel structures of higher complexity using advanced methods and software.
